Jakarta, Saya dalam keluarga 5 bersaudara. Dari 5 itu, cuma saya yang memiliki tubuh yang pendek. Tinggi saya sekarang lebih kurang 155 cm. Apakah dengan usia saya yang sekarang ini saya dapat menambah tinggi badan saya? Jika bisa, bagaimana caranya? Saya juga sering baca-baca dari internet, ada suplemen yang menambah tinggi dari usia 17-30 tahun. Mohon bimbingannya ya. Terimakasih sebelumnya.

Halo Jordan,
Secara genetik memang dapat salah 1 anak mempunyai kondisi fisik yang berbeda dari seluruh anggota keluarga lainnya jika sang anak mendapat 2 gen resesif (dari ayah dan ibu).
Di usia Anda masih dapat bertambah tinggi walau tidak banyak. Saran saya adalah untuk berolahraga yang meregangkan tubuh (berenang, yoga) sehingga tubuh tidak bungkuk dan mengkonsumsi makanan tinggi kalsium dan protein untuk membantu pertumbuhan tulang dan massa otot.
Saya tidak dapat memberikan komentar mengenai suplemen penambah tinggi badan karena saya tidak tahu bahan pembuatnya.

Boys stop growing at 20 years of age whereas girls stop growing around age 18, so there still is time. First, make sure you are getting enough calories. This chart will give you an idea of how much you need based on your gender, age and activity level.
You also want to eat regular meals and in between snacks. Aim for 4-5 food groups at main meals (lean protein, fruit, vegetable, grain, dairy and healthy fat) and 2-3 food groups in between meals.
Make sure you get adequate calcium and vitamin D for bone growth. You are at beak bone mass and need 1300mg calcium each day! Most servings of dairy contain about 300mg (1 cup milk/yogurt and 1/5 ounce of cheese), so 3-4 daily servings helps you meet your needs.
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommend children and adolescents take supplemental vitamin D if they can't get it through diet. Remember, vitamin D enhances calcium absorbtion. The recommended amount is 600IU, but if you are low you may need more. You can also get blood work done to be sure.
Lastly, adequate sleep is needed during times of growth so make sure you get to bed at a decent time at night.
You may not be able to do anything about genetics but maximizing nutrition and taking care of yourself can only help you grow to your potential.
